Descending from the heavens is this reimagining of the 1980 Olivia Newton-John movie-musical, about Kira, a Greek muse sent to Earth to inspire mortals. The musical will be penned by Douglas Carter Beane with Christopher Ashley directing. The music will be from the film version and the popular score was written by John Farrar and Jeff Lynne. Lynne wrote & produced all of the Electric Light Orchestra "E.L.O." music, which includes his 5 songs from the film, including the Billboard Top 20 hits: "Xanadu," “Party All Over the World," and "I'm Alive”. Farrar’s hits include most of Olivia Newton-John’s top songs including 5 from the film, most notably “Magic”, which was #1 on Billboard and “Suddenly”, another Top 20 hit.
